A recent EPA inspection of the Lodi Utilities Water Department noted that the utility is in non-compliance at all three well houses due to the storage of chlorine and fluoride being in the same room. The cost estimates to separate the chemicals in all well houses ranges from $521,800 to $637,700 depending on whether existing equipment can be used. As the utility is not required to fluoridate the water supply, the Council has chosen to discontinue its use once the current supply has been depleted which is expected to be late September.
